The Sport of Kings
In two decades of involvement in the Thoroughbred industry, I have worked alongside and interviewed owners, breeders, trainers, jockeys, racetrack executives and industry leaders as editor-in-chief of The Florida Horse magazine, Wire to Wire, as managing editor of California Thoroughbred magazine and most recently as a senior correspondent for The Blood-Horse. I have also contributed to numerous other industry trade publications, including Speedhorse magazine, and my story, “Happy Horses,” was published in Chicken Soup for the Horse Lover’s Soul (Health Communications), volume 1. In addition to my journalistic efforts, I write advertising/marketing copy and press releases for HallMarc Stallions, Prestige Stallions, GT Farm and Journeyman Stud.
Beyond the racetrack, I cover the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars for Rant Sports and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for Sports Media 101.
Accolades, Affiliations, etc.
A multiple American Horse Publications award winner, I have made numerous television and radio appearances reporting on the Kentucky Derby and Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships. I am a former board member of the Ocala/Marion County Chamber of Commerce and the Public Education Foundation of Marion County.
When I’m not writing, I enjoy nothing more than time with my family—wife, Nancy, daughter, Chloe, and son, Zach. I also enjoy running, hiking, cycling and basketball.
