My Miss Aurelia Edges Questing to Remain Perfect

Champion My Miss Aurelia remained perfect after a dramatic stretch duel with Questing in the $1 million Cotillion Stakes (G1) Saturday at PARX Racing.

Questing rolled to the front at the break, opening up by 2 ½ lengths on My Miss Aurelia through the race’s early stages. The two favorites hooked up through the lane and raced head and head the length of the stretch in a memorable battle. At the wire, it was My Miss Aurelia, in receipt of seven pounds from Questing, prevailing narrowly under Corey Nakatani. She stopped the timer in 1:44.54 for the 1 1/16 miles.

Owned by Stonestreet Stables and George Bolton, My Miss Aurelia was making only her second start of the year. The Kentucky-bred daughter of Smart Strike won last year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) and has missed most of this, her 3-year-old season recuperating from a shin injury. The win boosts her career bankroll over the $2 million.
