Creative Cause, the fifth-place finisher in Saturday’s Kentucky Derby (G1), is back in California and has been confirmed for the Preakness Stakes (G1) May 19.

Trainer Mike Harrington indicated on Tuesday that he likes the way Heinz Steinmann’s colt looks and said he is scheduled to make the trip to Baltimore next week.

“We’re planning on it; we’ve got the flight booked,” Harrington told Maryland Jockey Club Publicity. “We have to see how he bounces back.”

Winner of this year’s San Felipe Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita and runner-up to I’ll Have Another in the Santa Anita Derby (G1), Creative Cause is a son of Giant’s Causeway. He was bred in Kentucky by James Weigel.

Creative Cause is scheduled to be on a Wednesday, May 16 flight that originates in California, stops in Louisville, Ky. to pick up some more horses and completes its journey at Baltimore-Washington International Airport.
