Post positions were drawn on Monday for eight of the nine races on the Dubai World Cup card at Meydan.
In the $2 million Dubai Golden Shaheen (UAE-G1), contested at about six furlongs, George Bolton and Fog City Stables’ The Factor drew post position No. 7. The Baffert runner will be ridden by Rafael Bejarano. Also in the Golden Shaheen is Giant Ryan, Owned by Shivananda Racing, the 6-year-old is trained by Bisnath Parboo and will be ridden by Willie Martinez.
In the $1 million Al Quoz Sprint (UAE-G1) at about five furlongs on the turf, Vinery Stables’ Regally Ready, drew post No. 3 for trainer Steve Asmussen. Corey Nakatani will be aboard.
In the $2 million UAE Derby (UAE-G2), Team Valor International’s Lucky Chappy (Ire) drew post position No. 1 for trainer Graham Motion. Alan Garcia is the jockey.
Tom Ludt’s Western Aristocrat drew post position No. 7 in the $1 million Godolphin Mile (UAE-G2). Jockey Ryan Moore is named to ride for trainer Jeremy Noseda. The race also features Florida-bred Red Jazz, who is based in Euroope. The 5-year-old drew post No. 9.
The $10 million Dubai World Cup, which is expected to feature Game on Dude and Royal Delta from the U.S., will be drawn on Wednesday.
