Dullahan Records Fast Spin for Blue Grass Stakes

Dullahan turned in a fast workout at Keeneland on Sunday, blazing through five furlongs in:57.40, according to Keeneland Publicity.

Trainer Dale Romans is preparing his charge for a start in Saturday’s Blue Grass Stakes (G1) at the Lexington, Ky., track. Owned by Donegal Racing, Dullahan won the Dixiana Breeders’ Futurity over Keeneland’s Polytrack surface last October. He will attempt to join Round Table (1956-57) as the only horse to win both the Breeders’ Futurity and the Blue Grass.

“It was a good work; he worked fast,” Romans said of Dullahan, a colt by Even the Score who is a half-brother to 2009 Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Mine That Bird.

Following the work, Dullahan returned to Churchill Downs, where he will train until shipping back to Keeneland the day of the Blue Grass.
