Hansen Gets in Final Work for Blue Grass

Hansen turned in his final serious spin before next weekend’s Blue Grass Stakes (G1) at Keeneland, traveling five furlongs in 1:00 on Saturday at the Trackside Training Center in Louisville, Ky.

Working by himself with exercise rider Joel Barrientos aboard, Hansen galloped out six furlongs in 1:13.80.

“It was perfect,” trainer Mike Maker told Keeneland Publicity. Maker noted that the move was more a maintenance work following last Saturday’s five-eighths work in :59.80.

Owned by Kendall Hansen and Skychai Racing, Hansen is scheduled to return to the track on Monday and will ship to Keeneland the morning of the Blue Grass.
