Hymn Book Wins Frank ‘Pancho’ Martin Stakes

Hymn Book and jockey Joel Rosario cruised to an easy 5 ¾-length score in Friday’s Frank “Pancho” Martin Stakes at Belmont Park.

Trailing the four-horse field early, Hymn Book took command as he pleased and simply opened up on the field to the wire over the sloppy surface. He covered the 1 1/16 miles in 1:43.31. Small Town Talk finished second for trainer Charles Simon.

Hymn Book, a Stuart Janney, III homebred, is trained by Shug McGaughey. The son of Arch is out of the Known Fact mare Vespers.
