Kindred Spirits at OBS April Sale

Photographer Louise Reinagel captured this moment at OBS on Wednesday as Dr. Riki Takahashi got to know his latest acquisition, a chestnut filly by Stormy Atlantic.

“When an agent buys a horse and the new owner smiles when he touches that horse, it touches something deep in me,” Louise said.

Through Narvick International, Takahashi purchased the filly, hip No. 814, for $300,000 at the OBS April Sale. The Kentucky-bred filly was consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, agent. Takahashi also purchased hip No. 441, a son of Majestic Warrior, through Narvick the day before for $400,000.

The OBS April Sale continues on a record pace heading into Thursday’s final session in Ocala, Florida.
