A colt by Malibu Moon—Fashion Cat, by Forest Wildcat, topped the Barretts March Sale on Monday selling for $675,000.
Coolmore’s bloodstock agent Demi O’Byrne signed for the colt that was consigned by Breaking Point Farm. The average price of $143,459 improved 31.1 percent from a year ago. The median price of $100,000 rose 17.6 percent. A total of 61 horses changed hands for a gross of $8,751,000 compared to 77 horses sold last year for $8,426,000.
The juvenile sale season moves to Ocala, Fla. next week. The two-day OBS sale kicks off on Tuesday, March 12. Under-tack previews will be held at OBS Thursday and Friday this week.
