Marketing Mix Returns With Strong Effort at Keeneland

Glen Hill Farm’s Marketing Mix made a winning return to the races on Wednesday by posting an impressive victory over Canadian champion Inglorious at Keeneland.

Trained by Tom Proctor and ridden by Julien Leparoux, Marketing Mix covered one mile on turf in 1:35.38. The 4-year-old daughter of Medaglia d’Orio is now a winner in five of 10 career starts. Inglorious put in a threatening bid at the head of the lane but Marketing Mix had plenty in reserve to hold her at bay to the wire.

It was the first start for Marketing Mix since winning the Mrs. Revere (G2) at Churchill Downs in November. Prior to that, Marketing Mix had finished second in the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1) at Keeneland.

“It’s nice to win one,” Proctor said. “She is nominated to the ($200,000-added) Churchill Distaff Turf Mile (G2 on May 5 at Churchill Downs), but I might take her to California.”
