Post Positions Drawn for Belmont Stakes

ill have another

Post positions for Saturday’s 144th running of the Belmont Stakes were drawn on Wednesday at Belmont Park.

I’ll Have Another, attempting to become the first Triple Crown winner since Florida-bred Affirmed in 1978, drew post position No. 11 and has been installed as the 4-5 morning-line favorite.

“It’s been an unbelievable ride,” said Doug O’Neill, I’ll Have Another’s trainer. “We’re here because of the remarkable I’ll Have Another. He’s doing great. His appetite has been great. His coat continues to shine. We couldn’t ask for him to be coming into the race any better. From the 11 hole we can see how the race sets up. Mario (Gutierrez) is such a confident rider and they get along really well.”

The complete field in post position order with morning line odds is as follows: 1. Street Life (12-1); 2. Unstoppable U. (30-1); 3. Union Rags (6-1); 4. Atigun (30-1); 5. Dullahan (5-1); 6. Ravelo’s Boy (50-1); 7. Five Sixteen (50-1); 8. Guyana Star Dweej (50-1); 9. Paynter (8-1); 10. Optimizer (20-1); 11. I’ll Have Another (4-5); 12. My Adonis (20-1).
