Post Positions Drawn for Blue Grass Stakes

Post positions were drawn Wednesday morning for Saturday’s 88th running of the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (G1) at Keeneland.

Last year’s Eclipse champion juvenile Hansen drew post position No. 4 and is the morning-line favorite at odds of 6-5. Dr. Kendall Hansen and Skychai Racing own the popular gray, who will be ridden by Ramon Dominguez. Michael Maker is the trainer.

The full field of 13, the largest Blue Grass field since 1974, in post position order with morning line odds is as follows: 1. Heavy Breathing (12-1); 2. Gung Ho (30-1); 3. Prospective (10-1); 4. Hansen (6-5); 5. Russian Greek (50-1); 6. Dullahan (6-1); 7. Politically Correct (30-1); 8. Midnight Crooner (15-1); 9. Holy Candy (30-1); 10. Howe Great (6-1); 11. Ever So Lucky (12-1); 12. Hero of Order (12-1); 13. Scatman (12-1).

       He is certainly one to fear in the late stages. I’m sure his first race back at Gulfstream and his blazing workout the other day has him set to fire a big shot on Saturday! Good luck.
