Undefeated Princess Arabella has suffered a soft tissue injury and has been retired from racing.
The Peachtree Stable colorbearer was expected to be among the favorites for the Kentucky Oaks (G1) in two weeks at Churchill Downs.
Princess Arabella was perfect in three starts for trainer Bob Baffert. Her most recent start resulted in an 8-length romp in the Sunland Park Oaks in March. She earned $188,400 during her career.
“This filly put so much into everything she did,” John Fort said in an interview on TVG on Thursday. “She is such a big, beautiful filly, and she had three races that were absolutely brilliant.’
Peachtree Stable won last year’s Kentucky Oaks with Plum Pretty and will still be represented this year by Mamma Kimbo.
