Done Talking Speaks Loudly in Illinois Derby

Done Talking let his actions speak for him on Saturday in winning the 55^th running of the $500,000 Illinois Derby (G3) at Hawthorne.

The son of Broken Vow appears headed for a date in the Kentucky Derby (G1) after closing late to win the 1 1/8- mile race by just under a length in 1:53. Sheldon Russell piloted the 13-1 winner for trainer Hamilton Smith and owners Skeedattle Stable. Morgan’s Guerrilla finished second.

Done Talking now has three wins and two-thirds from seven lifetime starts and earnings of $381,200.
