Tara From the Cape Wins Stakes Debut at Delaware

Horses with Florida connections swept the top two spots in the Thomas Greene Memorial Stakes at Delaware Park on Thursday.

Tara From the Cape, a daughter of Stonewall Farm Ocala stallion Leroidesanimaux (BRZ), remained undefeated in two career starts with the victory. The 2-year-old filly broke her maiden in her career debut at Woodbine in June. Trained by Todd Pletcher, Tara From the Cape is owned by Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners, Gary Barber and Debmar Stables.

Ridden by Joe Bravo, the chestnut filly covered the 7 ½ furlongs on turf in 1:31.96. Tara From the Cape was bred in Kentucky by Stonewall Farm Stallions.

Finishing second on Thursday was Florida-bred  Laila Baby, a graduate of Gayle Woods Thoroughbred Training and Sales in Ocala. The OBS graduate was bred by Gary Seidler and Peter Vegso and races for Travin Stables.
